I would think you have to consider how you define investing and the criteria one uses to pick their stocks.
If the criteria are the same then the difference is only the time frame.
A “value investor” who buys undervalued stocks and sells them when they become overvalued might be considered a trader.
The “Buy and Hold” investor who hopes to sell at a profit somewhere down the road is just a trader with a longer time frame.
The goal of both Traders and Investors is to have your money work for you and earn a profit. One method isn’t necessarily better than the other.
