In the unlikely event that someone drops by this thread: are you not allowed to post links or did I do something wrong? Thanks for any help I may receive. :?:

Jerry, you're allowed to post links (and images too.) It's just that, at least for now, you're not allowed to use HTML tags.

There are 2 ways to post links:

1. Just paste the URL inline and let the software turn it into a link.

2. Use BBcodes, optionally using the buttons just above the reply input field. Click on the URL button. You'll see [url] and the button will change to URL*. Now paste the URL and click on URL*. You'll end up with something like [url]http://www.bylo.org[/url].

If you want to include a title you'll have to manually change the BBcoding like this: [url=http://www.bylo.org]Go to Bylo's[/url].

You can see how this works using the Preview button.

I'm wondering how Bylo managed to get the text showing (in above post) for

Go to Bylo's.

without it actually executing the url and so hiding the underlying text.

Oh well some folks will always know more than I know. Repeat Repeat Gotta keep close to them.

That's done by [url=http://www.bylo.org]Go to Bylo's[/url].

Edit: to show the actual command, enter it and test it in preview, then turn off BBcode in the check box to show it.

Shakes explained how I did it. A better way that would have allowed me to leave BBcodes on, is to use the Code button. For example...

If you want to include a title you'll have to manually change the BBcoding like this:

Code: Select all

[url=http://www.bylo.org]Go to Bylo's[/url]
That will result in Go to Bylo's

Edit: Code is similar to <PRE> in HTML.

I am typing this on Microsoft Word 6. I will copy and then see what the text looks like at this forum. I am not sure how it will do.

It doesn't work as I hoped it would. :(
