Or if you live in Mexico where the old DST rules still apply. We end up on Mountain Time for the first week of November and for 3 weeks in April (otherwise CDT).

Just a reminder to those living in places where daylight savings time is observed, the setting needs to be changed to Yes

You might want to change your personal time by going into the User Control Panel > Board Preferences " and change Summer Time/DST is in effect:" to No.

Did you just not update your computer or do you set the wrong zone or what? The US switched the adjustment at the same time as Canada.

Think the expansion of DST was one of Bush's many bone headed ideas.

Yes, yes it was. :D

We have one Mexican computer but had to get English Windows installed. Unlike Apple, changing the language in MS requires this. It does have the expanded keyboard with an extra column of keys.

You don't change the language, just set the location in regional settings (from control panel).

What Microsoft OS are you running? In Windows 7, click Start and then type in 'time' and you should see an entry 'Date and Time' near the top of the list. Click it. You'll see the clock and in the bottom there is a button for "Change time zone...", click it. Can't you select "UTC-6 Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Monterrey" and also check Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Saving Time"?

IIRC, for previous OS versions, the procedure is the same.

Have done it myself when taking laptop to PV or HNL - surprised you were not aware of it.

You would be amazed at the simple things that I have never mastered. I keep my laptop on Pacific time to avoid confusing people. But with the differing time changes and all, I suppose it is time to venture forth...

This is your semi-annual reminder to those living in places where daylight savings time is observed, the setting needs to be changed.

Bump, for those in places where it matters you might want to visit your User Control Panel > Board Preferences " and change Summer Time/DST is in effect:" to No.

The system's clock has been advanced one hour for daylight savings time. If you're logged in, you might want to change your personal time display by ticking the DST Yes option in your user control panel and pressing Submit.

The system's clock has fallen back one hour for the end of daylight savings time. For those in places where it matters you might want to visit your User Control Panel > Board Preferences " and change Summer Time/DST is in effect:" to No.

Teaser, probably the last time you'll need to make this change.
