Gold

Post by Sensei »

Hello,

Rare visit here, but perhaps some people have some experience with this metal

I will be renting a safety deposit box in the next few months to set aside some cash and other valuables.

I was just wondering about coins like Canadian Maple Leafs. Two questions:
1. Where is the best place to buy them? Mint? Dealer?
2. Later, if I did sell one, where is the best place to sell?
3. Is there a spread in pricing and if so any idea how much?
(Ex. If I bought a Maple Leaf at the mint, would I get the same price if I sold it right back?)
Cheers

If you're in Japan, not sure I can help.
Scotia has strong metals desk, some other banks followed.
There's of course a spread, the smaller the trade, bigger the spread.
There're few dealers in GTA (and online), there's a lot of info on RFD (redflagdeals)
I for example bought some silver coins (as a present) online in the US and they were delivered
