Well I spent too much time on Tuesday watching the up and down price action in THI before finally putting my own asking price in, (too late). If the prices given Wednesday though Friday are any future indication, then it's beginning to look like I'll be going for the $88.50 cash offer if and when this deal finally goes through with government blessing.

My shares in THI just got taken out a few minutes ago for $89.03. Put the ask price in this morning before the market opened. Now it's left me wondering if they know something I don't know.

Anyhow!

Why I sold my Tim Hortons stock - The Globe and Mail
Let’s call the deal what it is: a highly leveraged buyout. The merged company will be saddled with so much debt and diverting so much cash to interest and principal payments that dividend hikes will be well down the list of priorities....

In other words, don’t expect any juicy dividend increases from the Home of the Whopper. It will be too busy paying back creditors.
If I owned it - I didn't - I wouldn't today.

LBO's have a mixed record. They're really a way for the buyout specialist to make money, not the shareholder.
