Sold the BNS and NA shares that I picked up in January of last year. I'm going to take my money and run in light of current events and potential future outcomes re housing.

Sold Paypal at US$47.60.

I intended on it being a 6 month or so holding after they started to get really aggressive on pushing their crummy foreign exchange commissions. I figured they'd get a pop in profit. Whether I was right or not, they posted good numbers today.

Sold VDU in the RRSP's to replace with either XEF or XAW. Tug of war in the mind on whether to go down from a four ETF portfolio to a three. Only a few years to go before converting to a RRIF where three asset classes offer simplicity but I would miss the supposed rebalancing bonus from having four.

Damn, if I only I held a bit longer :). AIP, Dutil family to take Canam Group private in $875 mln deal.

Wasn't a value trap after all.

Ross Healey seems to think there is value here: http://www.bnn.ca/market-call/ross-heal ... ks~1118647

I think he's nuts, but it takes all kinds to make a market. It's nice when you can get paid for silliness...

Might have been tempted to take him up on it if Ross still wielded the influence he did some 15 years ago.
Probably coincidence, but can't help wondering how much his comment may have contributed to today's spurt in the stock price.
Hope there's more to his strategies than basking in past glory.

Bought 2,000 shares of AIM-C.TO (AIM 6.25% fixed reset preferred series 3) for $8/share and just sold half for $12/share. Aimia got hit pretty hard this morning on news that AirCanada is to cut ties with the Aeroplan program as of 2020 and start its own rewards program. Aimia preferreds got hit almost as hard as the commons and I thought this presented a great opportunity.

b.t.w. I put an order for 5,000 shares but I only got filled on 2,000. I could see my bid in Level 2 and I could even see the ask at $8 for a good few mins after in Level 2... I though it was very weird. Didn't bother to call BMOIL...

Sold half my Aimia shares (TSE:AIM) at $2.63 this morning. Bought them late last week for $2.4 for a trade and I'm happy to have made +9.5%.
Been lucky this year with HCG, AIM and CAM.

They do and I keep telling myself I should stop playing; my long term holdings are boring :). In any case, I play with small amounts and I don't ever risk more than 5K on a single trade. I might average down once or twice, but I am usually quick to exit (either +10% or -10%).

Sold a portion of my CSU and DSG holdings today. Hard to sell as I've held these for many years and I firmly believe in letting your winners run. However, my tech holdings (US and Cdn) have overweighted to a stupid level.
