Innergex (INE)

Post by 2 yen »

(Did a few searches and couldn't find a thread)

Does anyone have any thoughts on which other companies I might look at that are similar to Innergex - in order to help me evaluate Innergex itself.

They recorded a loss in the last quarter and if this can be turned around, now might be the time to buy.

(Kinda thinking out loud here.)

?

Thanks.

Boralex (BLX.TO) is one since they're both developing "renewable energy".

Where might I turn to find good, non-company-based information about the economics of these kinds of businesses?

Anyone know of any sources?

(Thanks for the above company names.)

Innergex has added a huge (relatively) purchase.

Mr. Market does not like this increased debt load. Down 4.5% yesterday.

Increasing debt loads at a time of rising bond yields does not sound very brilliant......

And in my view, they have significantly overpaid for this proposed purchase. One small saving grace, 75% of purchase to be paid by issuance of shares in INE.

Was surprised to see that this completed project is the largest in Texas - a leading state in renewables in the U.S. Hope it eases some concerns about debt for this company, but it probably won't.

Any thoughts on the sharp decline in price over the past week? While the sector is down 2 to 3%, INE is down almost 9% this week.

Profit-taking? Sector rotation? I don't think this is a stock-specific sell-off. Boralex is down 15% in the past month, and 7% in the past 5 days. BEPC hit a high of $80.30 just a few weeks ago, and is now down to $64, a drop of over 20%. (Although the drop in BEP is partly due to a big sale of shares by BAM, BEP had already corrected by around 10% before the share sale news.)

Does it correlate with the rise in oil prices?
