What are your top 5 holdings?
It is interesting to see the different investing styles that are promoted by FWF'ers, and I'm curious to see how that translates into portfolio holdings. So, what are your top five equity holdings - stocks, funds, ETF's? I think we'll leave off the FI component for now because it get's a little messy with individual bonds and such.
For my portfolio Quicken says:
CPD - 6.01%
REI - 5.11%
PPL- 4.34%
TD Monthly Income Fd - 4.17%
ENB.PR.A - 3.48%
The percentages are of the total portfolio value, not just equity. My portfolio is about 40% FI, 30% Prefs, 30% stocks

With the exception of a swap from PWF to POW, still hold all the names listed in http://www.financialwisdomforum.org/for ... 63#p286063

Re: What are your top 5 holdings?
My top 5 holdings are SIN.UN, CPG, REI, BNS, EIF. Roughly $50k in each, but many others not far behind. Also had TD Monthly Income in various accounts - also likely about $50k total in that fund. Don't keep track of percentages.

BCE 6.4%
TD 6.11%
BAM.PR.N 6.00%
Emera 5%
TRP 4.5%
No Energy or Material Stocks. I mostly would prefer around 5% allocated per holding but I'll run with the dividend growth winners. The preferred was bought at $15 and swelled ... but why sell an income producer when interest rates will remain low for the foreseeable future.

Hi,
Interesting thread.
I have some offshore funds that would rival the top five US holdings, but for simplicity...
US$ PM, HCN, ABT, O, CVX
C$ YLO.....Just kidding!
BCE, TRP, TD, RY, PWF

Re: What are your top 5 holdings?
Well, if Scomac (who is a heck of a lot smarter than I am) is including Preferreds as equity I'll just add to my statement above that 17.28% of our investments are in Canadian preferreds (banks, insurance and Fortis) but no individual holding would be in our top 5 holdings.

Re: What are your top 5 holdings?
The equity component of my portfolio has risen significantly from about 22% to about 26%. Of that, 1/5 is in preferred shares. All my stocks, except the remaining ylo preferred, are dividend stocks. These are in my non-registered account. I also hold a few stocks in my RRSP -- currently including a few CN and BCE bought within the last week -- but I don't include these in my count since I don't consider them long-term holdings.
My top five, in order, make up 37% of my equity holdings:
BNS
BCE
EMA
CN
TRP

With holdings like that, (and Quebecor World previously) you learn to count preferreds as equity...usually the hard way!
