There is some growing awareness of the issue down there, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Both the Bush and Obama administrations made things worse for Americans abroad, now Trump has done the same.
As an ex-American abroad, I could go into the many reasons for why it never gets better, but American exceptionalism would be high on my list.
