Haven't ever bought much there. Just a car adapter for cell phone, earbuds, cheap computer desk for garage and maybe a few other items. Won't miss it if it goes.

The store always had a bit of a sad-sack feel to it. There's discount and then there's depressing.

The walking sticks were not bad :) Like everywhere pick and choose, choice is good. Take a look at the Staples world now that the smaller alternatives are gone less choice more bulldozer big store. From the investor board point of view the lesson is retailing is a tough game to play.

Better look fast. Staples closes 15 stores in Canada

How do you sell the inventory and assets of a bankrupt bankruptcy sales store?

But I thought they were already a "liquidator" outlet - I guess we'll see how much more "liquid" they can get :)

Well, in Winnipeg, what used to be XS Cargo is now Bianca Amor's Liquidation Supercenter.

So in answer to the question: How do you liquidate a liquidator?
The answer is: You change the sign.

I was at the local one today. Didn't buy anything. They had a lot of laptop cooling pads.

Maybe one of those cooling pads would have saved my laptop from overheating :) I would buy one, but the repaired Toshiba (on it now) will soon go into semi retirement.

Well, they were 20% off. If they drop to 50% off maybe that would fit well with a 50% retired laptop? ;)
