How about a wiki version of the gummy-stuff index? Check out gummy-stuff - finiki, the Canadian financial Wiki. In creating the article I made one concession, gummy's choices of colours and fonts have been removed to conform with Wiki standards.

Great work, P_I!

[Added]I'll bet gummy's stuff will get a lot more looks now than it did before, lost (so-to-speak) in cyber-space. I've gone back to his musings many times over the years.

Shakespeare and LadyGeek collaborated on the effort, it is a wiki after all.

I suspect newcomers might appreciate the new cleaner wiki look, but those who have used gummy-stuff in the past will miss the original  look and feel.

Wow what a tremendous storehouse of knowledge and techniques. Well done guys to create a modern look to the index.

The importance of this material can't be overstated. His contributions are also well-known in the Bogleheads forum. We've just added a Bogleheads wiki article: Gummy-stuff which links back to finiki. Some examples:

Subject: "There is a rebalancing bonus ... false"
Bradley wrote:The most comprehensive and educational discussions on rebalancing were posted by Gummy on his website. One such discussion which discusses Bernstein's Rebalancing opinion can be found here: http://www.gummy-stuff.org/rebalancing-bonus.htm
Subject: XIRR question - beginner

For a one-time, initial investment, your final portfolio will depend only upon the final asset price
... and remember, the annualized return does, indeed, ignore all intermediate prices.
Aah, but for a sequence of annual investments, you'd expect your final portofolio to depend upon these intermediate prices.
What is suggested here is that (approximately, for the long haul) the comparison depends only upon that annualized return.

It is great that this stuff is being maintained.

Coincidentally enough, when I logged in here yesterday for the first time in 7 years, I found a PM from gummy in my inbox, from 2006.
How is he doing these days?

Hi fellas:
Keith Cowan wrote to say that I've not been buried on this forum (yet).
''course, having just celebrated my 79th birthday, I got me at least one foot buried.

Heidi & I now spend our time reading and travelling; our last trip is described here:
http://www.gummy-stuff.org/Barcelona-diary.htm

I took a peek at that
http://www.finiki.org/wiki/Gummy-stuff
WOW!!

When I woke up to my 79th, I told Heidi that when I got both feet buried,
my gummy-stuff.org web site will be buried with me
... so no need to pay the annual webspace fees.
It's nice to know that all the stuff won't be buried with me.
(I appreciate having a copy on FWF.)

A few weeks ago I got email asking about some financial thingy.
I said that I can't recall having written anything on the subject.
The guy then gave me the gummy-stuff URL.
I couldn't understand a word I had written.
I feel sorry fer you guys/gals trying to read my tutorials.
:D

Regards to all.

Yeah, the wiki looks great P_I, and all those who worked on it - thanks.

I've been stealing copying borrowing Gummy excel macros for so many years now. It's the first place I go when I need a financial macro that I can "borrow" and modify to my needs. There's so much great stuff there.

++i is B programming language(*) for:

i ← i + 1

That means increment the current value of the variable i by 1. So all you have to do to indicate your agreement with the sentiments expressed upthread is post another ++i.

(*) which ran on the Honey bun and served as inspiration for the more familiar C.

Shouldn't that be i++?

With the launch of our new homepage (powered by WordPress) we have more opportunities to showcase what FWF has to offer. With this in mind, check out gummy stuff tutorials | Financial Wisdom Forum. Of course, the finiki version of the page will remain in place.

Looks like www.gummystuff.org has changed?
Hello, my name is Gummy and I am an investment expert with many years’ experience trading stocks. I created this website for people who don’t like to keep their money in savings account and who actually want to take on the challenge of investing in different options that can give them far healthier profits.
Has someone else has purchased the domain name? This does not resemble the old site in any way.
