National Post
So, I was just at http://www.nationalpost.com , and noticed that I can read all of the articles there.
Did they change stuff so that the great unwashed unpaid subscribers could read the paper? When the heck did this happen?

Yes they did and a few months ago. Now it's almost worth what you pay for it
That leaves only the Grope and Flail with some content behind the green door. Meanwhile the new Murdoch-owned WSJ is lifting its kimono even higher by exposing more of its famous "fair and balanced" editorial fleshcontent to those who can't afford to pay for their titillationbrainwashing.

Been saying for a while the Post is not what it one time was. While the editorial content is fine the fiancial section has been gutted .
The Monday edition mite as well be done away with for all it's worth.
Lord Black must be dissapointd to see what it has become.
The changes of the past few months were not made to improve the paper but to save MONEY. Who they think they are kidding.

A Venerable Magazine Energizes Its Web Site
That's one good magazine I used to read on the web before they tried (and failed) to monetize web viewership.A year ago, The Atlantic’s Web site was, to put it gently, weak — in content, staff, traffic and advertising.
Today, with big-name bloggers and video, it barely resembles the same site, having evolved into one of the livelier places on the Web for public policy debate and news analysis. And the number of readers going to the site has quadrupled.
Readership will get another boost starting Tuesday, when TheAtlantic.com will abolish the fire wall that has allowed only subscribers to the print magazine to see most of its articles online. It will make its archive accessible, too.
Executives hope that a rise in traffic brings to The Atlantic, one of the nation’s oldest publications, something it hasn’t had in many years: a profit.

For anyone who wants a taste (or who needs to rebuild their stash of fire-starter or bird-cage liner, etc.): Free 60-day supply of Notional Pest.

national post missing news?
Noticed last few mornings mutual fund quotes missing in finacial section.
Some time back they done away with the monday mornings weeks dividend payments.
The financial section of the post is nothing like it once was.
Guess it's time to try the Globe.
They are gradually de-nutting the dam thing.
Any comments guys??

I used to buy it Saturdays from one of the mechanical librarians, but when they raised the price by $1 the other week, that was the end of that.

I'll sell you mine. It's got a picture of a thumbs up John Glenn pre blast off, plus stories on the YBM--Russian mob connection, King Ralph on uniting the right and Yelstin telling Da Boss to bugger off. You'll need to supply your own magnifying glassSpringbok wrote:I am sure I still have it somewhere - Maybe in the Laundry room. Think the Antique Road Show might put a value on it?

Once you become an ex-subscriber, they call you every 3 months or so and try to entice you back with great deal offers, essentially giving you the paper for next to free. No wonder they are in trouble.
