I cannot recall this book I read a while back.

The setting is in Kamloops, BC where a character was traveling
and got caught in a snow storm. He stayed the night in a motel and met
some interesting characters. Either he or some other guests spoke about
wills, savings, retirement.

I am trying to remember the name of this book and its drive me nuts.
Thanks in advance for any tips.

They say the first thing to go is memory. I can't remember what the second thing is.

Have you tried contacting used bookstores in Kamloops?

They may be able to help prevent you from going crazy :)

Wasn't that David Chilton's sequel? "The Wealthy Barber Gets Lost", or "The Wealthy Barber: Avalanche", or something like that?

could be, I'll have to go to Chapters and browse the book.
The local library has many holds on it.
I remember it being having a plot where a person would relate his story concerning his finances.

I just spent a crazy amount of time trying to browse inside 'Why Swim with the Sharks' and 'Free Parking'. I've read the book you were talking about and those were the first two that came to mind. But I don't have them on my shelves to confirm. Apparently it's driving me nuts too.

Thanks for the reminder. The above book was was a great influence in my decision to take early retirement a few years ago.

As for the financial planning book with a snow storm scene in it. Sorry. Looked, but could not find. You might want to browse through the financial books on the shelves of your local library.

I found it!
Thanks to you, the book is "Advance to go!" by Alan Dickson (2003), which is his book after "Free Parking" (2001).
I went to Chapters and took a peek.
Now I can sleep in peace.
