Access Code for tax return
I need our access codes for our 2023 tax returns, and I'm unable to get them from our CRA accounts. They are to be found on the top left corner of the NOA. I do not have printed copies of the NOA for last year.
After signing in to our CRA account and going to the Tax Returns page, when I click on "notice of assessment or reassessment" for 2022, all I get is a blank page. This is the case 2021, 2020, etc.
Now, if I click on the "assessed" link, I do get the information for that year. It's just the NOA that is missing.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I'm using MS Edge, and I've also tried Chrome.
Thanks very much!

No. Mike lived in Ontario - either Lindsay or Peterborough, I forget which. And he doesn't look like that. A bunch of us (Scott, Bruce, Norbert and a bunch of others) met him at the annual "beer in Picton" years ago.

I went through that entire survey. Does anyone else here have an issue with the "correct" answer to question 1?Springbok wrote: ↑29 Mar 2023 14:13 The study says that financial literacy starts to drop from age 60! Heck, that is about when I started DIY investing
I found it interesting to look at the questions the survey used. https://www.dropbox.com/s/e74untepjj40m ... s.pdf?dl=1 To help those who can't answer, the correct answers ae in italics It is hard to believe that much weight should be placed on conclusions resulting from that survey!

Is your wife’s TFSA maxed out? You can stash some funds there.

I took some money out of my iTrade TFSA last year and wasn't charged anything. There is, however, a $50 charge for taking money out of an RRSP.

Re: Beer Pandemic
Holstein Festbock. My favourite beer. It’s a dark beer - malty and a little bit sweet. Not hoppy at all. Comes in a 500 ml can, and it’s 7% alcohol, so you only need one.
It’s what I like to have on a hot afternoon. I prefer it very cold, so I drink it out of a freezer mug.

Re: Housing Market 2022
As some of you may remember, we sold our house in Prince Edward County 3 years ago and moved to Edmonton. Since then, I've been keeping an eye on RE prices in that area. The people who bought our old house told me that the value of the place went up about 40% a year after we left, due to Covid. Sold too soon, I guess. Anyway, prices have continued to skyrocket due to Covid and people wanting to live there because apparently Prince Edward County is "cool." I continue to check out the MLS listings every day to see what is for sale, and for how much. Many, many houses that I would classify as "trash" have been priced so high that I wouldn't be able to afford them. For example, ten miles or so down the road from where we liv...

Re: Renter's rights in Alberta
Dlink gave you some good information. All I can supply now is impressions. I personally wouldn't want to live in Edmonton. It's kinda expensive, and there are some rather dicey areas, especially downtown. And the nicer areas are generally near the river, where there are a lot of trees. As I mentioned, my daughter lives in St Albert. If you get out into the newer subdivisions there is no mature tree cover. Lovely neighborhoods, though. Rents seem to be reasonable, but the rental stock is mostly duplexes and town houses. The schools are excellent. A lot of Catholic schools. Both of my grandchildren did French immersion until this school year. (Granddaughter up to grade 12, grandson up to grade 10.) St Albert has a lot of festivals throughout ...

Excellent choice.EnjoyTheJourney wrote: ↑24 Apr 2022 15:02 Thank you all for the suggestions and insights.
After a bit more research, the Edmonton region looks like our final destination.
We moved to just outside Edmonton (Spruce Grove) three years ago, and love it. My daughter and her family live just down the road in St Albert. Most areas of these cities are new, and the recreation facilities are top-notch. There's lots to do, with walking/bike trails everywhere, many parks, and decent shopping.
If you have any questions, please ask!

Re: Thoughts on the used vehicle market
We got lucky in the spring. We needed a truck before we could buy a trailer. Very, very limited inventory. We found a Nissan Frontier PRO-4X and jumped on it without even test driving it. It was from a Nissan dealer, so if there had been any problems with it they would have fixed them. We picked it up for $20,000. A week after we got it home, the dealer called and asked if we would be interested in selling it back to them.
It's our 4th Nissan Frontier. We started with a 1978.
They now cost over $30,000.

I think our return for the year is about 17%. But we withdrew a lot of money, including $45,000 for the new truck and trailer.
Our total portfolio is worth 3% more today than it was at the beginning of the year. I consider that to be pretty good, all things considered.

Re: Nap time
I filled an old sock with uncooked rice and tied it off at the opening with an elastic band. 30 seconds in the microwave and it's good to go. The heat lasts about 10 minutes. This is also good for any type of pain you might have.
In the summer, I keep a couple of these socks in the freezer for when I get really hot. Stick one around the back of your neck and you'll feel much better in no time.

Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19) - stats and amateur epidemiology
A little off-topic, but....
We got our third shots a couple of days ago, and I went to get new copies of our Covid records to save to "my wallet" on my iphone. I did my husband's first, and it got saved fine, but when I got my record, it wouldn't save to my wallet because apparently the wallet doesn't recognize it as a different record, and tells me it has already been saved.
My husband has an old android phone and he can't save anything to it, which is why I wanted it saved on my phone.
Does anyone know if there is a way for me to do this? I also have a screen shot photo of mine, but I wanted the red card as well.
