I spell my HELOC RRSP, and keep cash there. Or, I could sell a TFSA security, rebuy in the RRSP, and take money from the TFSA if I don't want to pay withdrawal taxes.

But that's for amounts in the $10-15K region.

I started out with GIC's etc but after a few years switched to equities. Might switch back if rates increase to something meaningful.
Agreed; my TFSA is about 98% Canadian dividend growth stocks. Current IRR is 11.6%.

I believe the engine speedup is deliberate to deliver more torque. My Forester does the same thing.

Added: I can put hard shifts in the Forester but don't normally drive it that way except during steep hill descents.

I use the median life expectancy for my current age then add the years to get to 80% (since median is 50%). I project CPP for DW and I using 5 years average CPI. I also do this for OAS for DW. I use 4% discount rate. The company pension is non-COLA. I update the calculation every 2 years. I do bond...
