Brexit: Food Supply

An interesting article about what the exclusion of EU citizens may mean for the UK food supply and costs. Hint: UK workers just do not want the jobs that the EU workers are supposedly taking from them. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2017/may/21/brexit-coming-food-crisis-seasonal-migrant-labour...

I got the 2.5% offer. Seems just as random as Tangerine's promotions. I have had a zero balance in my Interest Plus account for over 20 months.

Re: I don't want a refund, the goal should be having taxes owing

Although I agree with the sentiment expressed by PI, the approach of SQRT is what I do. Installments give you the option of 3 approaches. The one year I decided not to go with the option of paying what is asked and instead estimated an amount and paid it I was charged interest. So from then on I pay...

Fair enough Norbert and indeed a major part of my income flow is from 4 BMO ETFs.
But my point is why even report it at all if is going to be incorrect.

Re: BMOIL Problems

As reported elsewhere on CMF, the Income Received on the much vaunted new format Monthly Statement is incorrect. I checked my statements from the inception month of December 2016 to March 2017 and it is incorrect in all cases.
I have sent them a complaint on MyLink.

As an Oaken (subsidiary of HC) depositor I just got the 'don't worry' email from them. The GIC ladder I have with them is within the CDIC limit so at this time I am just an interested spectator.

I see this in my seniors hiking group which I estimate to be about 75% female. Women are joiners and maintain social networks. Men are not naturally joiners and are more likely to be lone wolves.

Thanks scomac for your detailed reply. I will obviously keep the bond to maturity which I bought in lieu of a 5 year GIC on a ladder. Not willing to accept 5 year GIC rates I bought it to obtain a better yield realizing it is not CDIC insured like a GIC, but as an investment grade bond willing to ta...

Corporate Bond - Help with Tender Offer

I have a 5 year ladder in my LIF. I have been replacing GICs with investment grade corporate bonds. I previously received some help here when I started as I had no experience with buying corporate bonds or how to evaluate. I buy online through BMOIL. One of the two bonds I have has been subject to a...
